TV chef Steffen Henssler has to know how it's done: frying and topping juicy and tasty burgers. In the video series “Henssler's quick number” * the chef reveals his best lightning-fast recipes from various categories. However, there is one difference to the cheeseburger with bacon, as we usually know it: Instead of frying the bacon and placing it on the meat patty, in Henssler's recipe beef and bacon are turned through the meat grinder in a ratio of 2: 1.

Quick Bacon Cheeseburgers Recipe: The Ingredients

For 2 servings you need:

  • 200 g steak hip

  • 100 g of streaky bacon

  • butter

  • 2 burger buns

  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese

  • 2 tbsp ketchup

  • 2 slices of tomatoes

  • salt and pepper

  • ½ white onion in rings

  • 2 small pickles in slices

If you don't have a meat grinder at home, use ground beef instead of the steak and diced bacon instead of the whole piece of bacon, which you chop up again and mix well with the mince.

Recipe by Steffen Henssler: How to make quick bacon cheeseburgers

  • First, the steak hip and bacon are turned through a meat grinder.

  • Mix both types of meat in a bowl.

    Moisten your hands with water and form two balls out of the mince.

  • Heat a pan on high heat, add the meatballs (without fat!) And flatten them with a spatula or palette.

    Fry the meat patties over medium heat for about 10 minutes until crispy on one side.

  • Meanwhile, melt some butter in another pan and place the burger buns in with the cut surfaces.

    Toast them in it until golden brown.

  • Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each meat patty and bring the heat down a little.

    Let the meat roast for another 2 minutes.

  • Remove the burger buns from the pan and place them on a plate.

    Brush both sides with ketchup, cover the lower half with a slice of tomato, lightly salt them and then place the meat patty on top.

  • Season the meat or cheese vigorously with salt and pepper, place onion rings and pickles on top and place the top half of the bun on top.

  • Finished!
