The creative director of "Days Gone" explains why the game will not get a second part.
Video games are becoming increasingly expensive.
The fact that they cost 70 euros for the release - special editions even more - is today's standard.
In perspective, games for the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be even more expensive *.
Buyers therefore think twice about whether they should buy it immediately or rather wait for a discounted offer.
The latter is not welcomed by developers - it could even mean that a title is not given a sequel, although it is well received by the players.
According to a developer that happened to "Days Gone", as the colleagues from

report.
"Days Gone" developer: "If you want a sequel, buy the game at full price"
A recent
Bloomberg
report
revealed that Sony had rejected the Days Gone 2 proposal. The reason for this has now been revealed in a YouTube video by Creative Director and author of "Days Gone", John Garvin. In it he warns that not everyone would like his opinion. Garvin asks players
to buy games at full price
if they are really good. He has heard from numerous people that they have bought the games at a discounted price or even received them for free as part of the PlayStation Plus free games. "
Don't complain
if a game doesn't get a sequel if you didn't support it at launch," says Garvin.
"Days Gone" is included in the monthly PS Plus free games in April, which is why the game is currently a topic of conversation with many PlayStation players.
In addition, the zombie action adventure is included in the PlayStation Plus Collection.
When asked that “Days Gone” is currently in the limelight, Garvin said it was
less important
compared to the
sales figures at launch
.
The latter would support the developers directly.

Compared to "The Last of Us 2", the game had a few bugs at the beginning and the test ratings were much worse.
Nevertheless, “Days Gone” has won many fans who secretly
still hope for a sequel despite Sony's cancellation
.
That's why they have already started a petition online.
Who knows, maybe Sony will be ready for “Days Gone 2” after all.
