(ANSA) - MILAN, MAY 18 - Amazon is allegedly negotiating to acquire the film and television company MGM for about 9 billion dollars (7.4 billion euros).
The negotiations, according to Bloomberg reports, would have been going on for several weeks and the head of Amazon TV Mike Hopkins and the president of MGM KevinUlrich would have sat at the table.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, whose Anchorage Capital fund is the largest shareholder, has been looking for a buyer for months.
The possible acquisition of MGM would allow Amazon to further strengthen its offer on PrimeVideo.
