Big surprise on Instagram: Naomi Campbell announced on Tuesday that she had become a mother.
The 50-year-old model had emphasized in the past that she wanted to start a family, but had not yet felt ready for it.
"A wonderful little blessing has chosen me as a mother," writes Campbell under a photo in which she is holding a newborn baby.
She felt honored to have such a "gentle soul" in her life and couldn't find any words for the deep connection to the little being.
"There is no greater love."
She did not disclose further details about the baby, whether she was pregnant herself or the child came into her life by other means.
Campbell has said several times in the past that she wants children.
In an interview with Evening Standard Magazine in 2017, she said she was "thinking about having children all the time," but didn't feel ready to do so.
"With today's science, I can do it whenever I want," she said at the time.
However, she doesn't want to be a single parent, she wants to wait for the right man.
“I want a father figure.
I think that's important, ”said Campbell.
Nothing is known about a current relationship with Campbell.
The model broke up with Russian businessman Vladislav Doronin in 2013 after five years.
In 2019, she briefly dated singer Liam Payne and rapper Skepta.
