Investigators in Baden-Württemberg cracked down on child pornography.
48 objects were searched, as the police in Freiburg announced according to the AFP news agency.
The proceedings are aimed at a total of 53 suspects between the ages of 14 and 84 years.
According to the police, there is currently no specific connection between the individual suspects.
They are accused of possessing and distributing child pornography.
The raid was focussed on Freiburg and the district of Lörrach.
There were also searches in the districts of Waldshut, Emmendingen and Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald.
The investigators confiscated smartphones, tablets, notebooks, computers and other data carriers.
According to information from the »Süddeutscher Zeitung«, more than 250 pieces of evidence were seized.
Around 130 officers were on duty.
The investigation began after clues from US security authorities.
