According to the city's Emergency Management Office reported on its Wiebo account, the SEG Plaza has been affected by the phenomenon even in the absence of reports of earthquakes in the area.


    The images posted on social networks in Mandarin clearly showed the oscillations of the building which, with its height of 356 meters, is the 72 / m tallest in the world: completed in 2000, the tower is located in the Futian district and hosts an important electronics market and various offices in the center of one of China's fastest growing cities. The skyscraper, named after Shenzhen Electronics Group, was sealed at 2:40 pm local time (10:40 am in Italy), according to local media reports, while the Emergency Management Office began investigations to understand the cause of the phenomenon. "After checking and analyzing the data of various earthquake monitoring stations in the city, no earthquake was recorded today," a statement said.


    All occupants have been evacuated from the insecurity building and experts, for now, have reported that they have found no "cracks in the ground surrounding the building and no pieces of fallen or damaged exterior wall". It has not yet been made clear how the authorities will handle the situation, with the torrent in the heart of a city of over 12 million people. The SEGPlaza is the 18th tallest tower in Shenzhen, according to the database of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.


    Last year, Chinese authorities banned the construction of buildings taller than 500 meters, with height limits already applied in cities like Beijing. Five of the tallest skyscrapers in the world are located in China, including the second which is the 632-meter Shanghai Tower. Shenzhen is China's hi-tech heart, hosting giants such as Tencent and Huawei, and also boasting the fourth tallest skyscraper on the planet, the 599-meter PingAn FinanceCenter. (HANDLE).
