A nurse who had taken care of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, during his hospitalization last year for Covid-19, submitted his resignation, thus protesting the "disrespect" shown by the government in the towards the NHS, the national health system, and health professionals.
According to the Guardian, Jenny McGee, who watched Johnson's bedside for two days when she was in intensive care, also revealed that the premier's staff had subsequently attempted to co-opt her into a 'photo opportunity' in Downing Street.
"We are not getting respect," McGee said, referring to the government's proposal to raise the salary by 1% for NHS staff.which the unions described as a "kick in the teeth".
