In line with the last two weeks, the epidemic figures confirm the health improvement, on the eve of the reopening

Tomorrow, the French will have two extra hours to return home.

Perhaps they will take the opportunity to have a drink on the terrace, weather permitting.

Others will find cinemas or a museum.

So many activities to which they have been forced to give up, for several months, a health crisis requires.

It is this Wednesday that the country accelerates its deconfinement.

The President of the Republic had set as a condition a favorable trend in the figures of the epidemic.

His plans, at this point, are not thwarted.

22,058 patients in hospital

According to the latest figures from the health authorities, the period is lull. Lull in hospitals, to begin with, where the tension is decreasing. This is verified, to begin with, on the total number of hospitalized patients. This Tuesday, 22,058 Covid-19 patients were still being cared for in French establishments, against 22,749 on Monday and 25,028 seven days ago. In the last 24 hours, 996 new patients had to be hospitalized.

This is also true within critical care services. This Tuesday, the latest figures available at the Directorate General of Health show 4,015 patients suffering from a serious form of the disease requiring care in specialized services. They were 4,186 Monday and 4,743 just seven days ago. In terms of mortality, a more variable data, the authorities deplore in the last 24 hours 187 new deaths linked to Covid-19 (196 Monday and 236 last Tuesday). The total of deaths crosses the threshold of 108,000 dead on Tuesday.

Regarding contamination, Public Health France announces 17,210 new infections detected in the last 24 hours, to be compared with the 3,350 infections detected on Monday (day when the data is biased by the closure of laboratories on weekends) and 19 791 seven days ago.

There remains the vaccination.

This Tuesday, the Directorate General of Health (DGS) indicates that since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 21,094,191 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 31.5% of the total population and 40.2% population) and 9,121,804 people received two injections (13.6% of the total population and 17.4% of the adult population).
