Another shipwreck would have occurred in the Mediterranean, with at least 50 migrants reported missing.
This is what the spokesman of the World Migration Organization Flavio Di Giacomo said in a tweet, underlining that the boat left on Sunday from Zwara, in Libya.
According to the IOM, 33 people survived, all originally from Bangladesh.
On board the boat, according to an initial reconstruction, there were about ninety people but at the moment it is not clear if they were all from Bangladesh or there were also migrants of other nationalities. The rescues were carried out by the Tunisian authorities who had already saved 113 migrants off the coast of the island of Djerba from Bangladesh, Sudan, Eritrea and Egypt yesterday: they too had left Zwara on Sunday.
