In Amsterdam, several perpetrators are said to have robbed a money transporter.
After the fact, there was apparently a chase through the city, as a result of which an alleged robber was killed.
Two other suspects were injured, the police said.
Six people were arrested, including the two injured.
According to the police, the attack on a money truck took place in the north of Amsterdam in the afternoon.
Witnesses had spoken of multiple automatic weapon shots.
According to the police, the alleged perpetrators fled in two cars.
Suspects fled into fields
The police followed them to the village of Broek in Waterland just before the city limits in the northeast.
There the suspects ran into fields, said a police spokesman.
Shots were fired.
It was initially unclear whether the robber was killed by police gunshots.
Two cars were also burned out in the village, as seen on videos of witnesses on social media.
Possibly these are the getaway cars.
