The correspondent of EL PAÍS in China, Macarena Vidal Liy, has been the advance of the newspaper's readers in this pandemic.

Since the beginning of the crisis in Wuhan, it has reported on the evolution of infections in the region, as well as the measures that have been taken.

"The fact that they closed an entire city with 11 million inhabitants and later an entire province, gave us the idea that this was not a joke," he recalls.

Since then, the country, which has gone through very hard months with all kinds of restrictions, has controlled the spread of the virus and it is no longer mandatory to wear a mask.

The evolution of the health crisis, not only in China, but throughout the world, has been described phase by phase by EL PAÍS thanks to the newspaper's network of correspondents.
