Last night (Tuesday) the first semi-final was held in Rotterdam in the Netherlands and Elena, who last year almost lost the opportunity to represent Israel in the European Poetry Competition due to the Corona plague, played it on stage with the song "Set me free", which also found itself very relevant to the spirit of the time.

Apart from the great performance, which defeated the political considerations that might have affected the score, and won Elena a ticket to the final, it is impossible not to refer to the exceptional look of the Israeli singer.

But what you do not know is that Elena almost avoided wearing the two amazing outfits that Alon Livneh designed for her.

At the last minute the circle was resolved - and the pre-planned look was confirmed for her on stage.

Let's take a step back for a moment.

For Eden Elena's performance at the Eurovision Song Contest, Alon Livneh designed two locks.

One is a white coat dress made of shiny leather-like fabric, with a unique print inspired by the braids so identified with Eden, plus an inlay of thousands of handmade Swarovski stones.

The print on the garment was created by the Israeli startup company "Kornit Digital", and the exact styling was brought with me by Bezalel, one of whose regular customers is the Eurovision winner herself - Neta Barzilai.

The white coat dress does not stand alone and the twist in the performance comes just before the end of the song with the unveiling of a second look - a transparent dress with a braid of hair braids, matching the unique hair design made for Elena hair stylist Avi Malka, along with Eran Israeli's exact makeup.

The surprise factor bounces the number on several levels, and the dress that is revealed corresponds perfectly with Elena's character, and with the design language of the entire show.

"Eden flew on the garment from the first moment. She really liked the motif of the braids that is repeated in the two locks," Livneh tells Walla!

"She felt it was very true for her - one time the braids appear as digital printing and the second time it's the real thing."

But that empowering exposure experience was almost eliminated - and saved at the very last minute. Birch says that during rehearsals, exposing the garment did not work well. The zippers of the coat dress, one at the front and one at the back, got stuck and tangled in the braids of the dress below, delaying the entire moment of unloading. When the main producers of the number examined the show, they did not approve of the replacement of the locks on stage, which presented Livneh and Bezalel with a dilemma - which garment should one choose if only one lock is needed?

"The producers said they don't take risks, and if it doesn't work in rehearsals - we don't do it. We did not want to give up. The braid dress is amazing, but it is not shimmery and Eurovision while the other garment is very shiny, but lacks the 'kick' of the braids dress." , Birch number.

"The three of us - me, Eden and I, just did not agree to give up. Eden said she was not willing, under any circumstances, to stay with just one garment. I admit that if she told us 'leave, let's give up, it's not working out, it's problematic,' So maybe we should get out of it - but she didn't give up, so we had to find a solution. "

The last-minute solution - order SOS of new zippers with a smooth texture, made of plastic and thicker, so that they do not get tangled in the braids of the transparent dress underneath.

The zippers were ordered by express delivery from the United States and arrived within two days.

"It was really fast, and that's what saved the number in the end," Livne concludes.

Judging by the end result, one can only thank for this insistence of the trio, which allowed for the moment of exposure to exist.

Eden’s look accurately completes the message and vibe of the show and now it remains only to hold fingers for the big moment.
