No one had sat on these velvet seats since October 30.

This Wednesday, like restaurant terraces or museums, cinemas welcome the public again.

At the UGC Ciné-Cité, in Les Halles, you had to get up early to hope to attend the first screening. From eight o'clock, even before the doors of the cinema opened, the spectators were there, en masse. "I was in need, like an addict," explains Romain, who came to see Peninsula. He's already planning to go see a movie every day this week. “A film can be seen on the big screen. Streaming is fine, but seeing in a room is still better ”. "The atmosphere of discovering the film with other people, seeing it on the big screen, in such conditions, it's completely different," Louise abounds.

A great moment also for all the actors of the world of cinema, who saw the release of their films postponed.

Director Maïwenn was present for the theatrical release of “DNA”, which she directed.

"It's a melting pot full of emotions, anxiety, stress, I am happy to give the necessary oxygen to a film".

Same emotion for Nicolas Maury, whose film "Rag Boy" is also coming out today: "the cinema failed to the spectators, and the spectators failed to the cinema".

But this return to theaters is not without constraints. The reception gauge is limited to 35% of the usual capacity of the room. Only one in three seats can be occupied, except for people who come together. And even then, groups will be limited to six people. The spectators will also have to do without popcorns: it is forbidden to eat in the rooms.
