After record numbers of daily infections and active cases of covid-19 were recorded in the city, this Sunday
the Rosario Police Chief,
Adrián Forni
,
died of coronavirus
.
He was
52 years old
and had been admitted to a private health center for five days.
Reportedly, he had already received the first dose of the vaccine.
The head of Regional Unit II had been hospitalized during the week and was staying at the Sanatorio Parque.
Sources from the Santa Fe Security Ministry confirmed his death early as a result of the COVID-19 infection.
The commissioner had been appointed just over five months ago, although his career was extensive and he
knew how to hold high provincial positions
in the force.

During part of the previous management of the provincial government, Forni was in charge of the Special Operations Troop (TOE), dedicated to carrying out
investigations and tasks of greater complexity
.
At the beginning of the month he had participated in the official ceremony for the 31st anniversary of the creation of said body.
In 2017, he was reassigned by the then Santa Fe Minister of Security Maximiliano Pullaro.
At that time, he came to command the Special Unit for the Protection of Witnesses.
From that position, he intervened in highly relevant episodes such as the
first trial of "Los Monos"
and the murder of police officer Pablo Cejas in the city of Santa Fe.
Forni had received the
first coronavirus vaccine
with a dose of Sinopharm just over a month ago.
By then, the provincial campaign had already been calling on force personnel for several weeks as one of the priority groups for inoculation within a target population estimated at 1,200,000 people.
