F1: Leclerc retires in Monaco, problems with his Ferrari

2021-05-23T17:16:32.717Z

Bad luck for the Monegasque driver, he remains in the pits due to a transmission shaft failure 'impossible to repair before the race', as explained by the team (ANSA)

From pole position to retirement for Charles Leclerc in Monte Carlo. The home GP for the Monegasque has not even started, because the engine of his Ferrari did not start when he had to get out of the pits to settle on the starting grid. Leclerc, however, had to give up because obviously the problem was impossible to solve in a short time before the start of the race, in which he will not take part. His car remained parked in the pits. Ferrari explained that the retirement was due to "a problem with the left driveshaft that could not be repaired in time for the start of the race".
