Seven injured and 109 arrested, of which 10 under arrest, are the toll of the serious accidents that occurred late yesterday evening in Belgrade on the sidelines of the celebrations for the 32nd Red Star championship, the fourth in a row.
Groups of violent hooligans, after the official celebration of the conquest of the title which took place with beautiful choreographies on the Sava river, went to the nearby so-called Beton Hala area, along the river bank, traditionally very popular due to the presence of numerous clubs and restaurants at the fashion.
It is there that violent clashes with supporters of Partizan, the other team from Belgrade, eternal rival of the Red Star, took place.
Customers and staff of the premises sought shelter inside the restaurants and bars, which were quickly closed.
Two of the restaurants involved in the clashes were virtually destroyed.
Massive police departments and numerous ambulances have flocked to the scene.
The Serbian Interior Minister himself, Aleksandar Vulin, went to the scene of the incidents, stigmatizing the behavior of the violent fringes of Belgrade football supporters, who are not new to such episodes.
The Red Star, who is coached by Dejan Stankovic, former column of the Inter midfield and the Serbian national team, won the championship with a few days to spare, but the celebrations had been organized for this weekend.
