Over 300,000 deaths from Covid-19 have been recorded in
India
since the beginning of the pandemic, according to data from local authorities cited by the AFP and the count from the American University Johns Hopkins.
The Asian country of over 1.35 billion inhabitants reported another 50,000 deaths in less than two weeks, at an altitude of 303,720.
As an absolute figure, it is third in the world for the number of deaths behind the USA (590 thousand) and Brazil (450 thousand).
India has so far reported more than 26.5 million cases of contagion for the new coronavirus, second in this case only to the United States (33.1 million).

has exceeded 3.5 million infections having recorded 24,801 new cases in the last 24 hours, while the number of deaths was 375, which has increased their global number since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020 at 74,063. This is what emerged from the latest daily report from the Ministry of Health. The report also specifies that the infected registered in the complex are exactly 3,539,484, of which 3,106,949 have now recovered from the disease. As regards the most serious cases, 6,214 people are hospitalized in the resuscitation units, with a 73.5% occupancy of beds nationwide and 76.6% in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area (Amba). On May 19, Argentina recorded a record of daily cases with 39,652 infections in a single day.From that date, the government of President Alberto Fernández adopted new restrictive measures, decreeing nine days of rigorous lockdown, up to and including 30 May, for urban centers at greatest risk, including the capital and its immediate province.
