(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 24 - Over 300,000 deaths from Covid-19 have been registered in India since the beginning of the pandemic, according to local authorities data and the count of the American University Johns Hopkins.
The Asian country of over 1.35 billion inhabitants has recorded another 50,000 deaths in less than two weeks, at an altitude of 303,720. As an absolute figure, it is third in the world for the number of deaths behind the USA (590 thousand) and Brazil (450 thousand). India has so far reported more than 26.5 million cases of contagion for the new coronavirus, second in this case only to the United States (33.1 million). (HANDLE).
