The fifth and final season of the successful Spanish series will launch in September on Netflix, but its many fans will have to wait until December to devour the last five episodes, the American platform unveils on Monday.
This last season, eagerly awaited, will be divided "into two volumes of five episodes each: the first volume will be available from September 3, while the second will be broadcast on December 3, 2021", specifies the streaming giant, in a press release accompanied of an original trailer.

In the first volume, “we started with a very aggressive style, putting the gang in a critical situation,” said Álex Pina, the creator of the series, quoted in the press release.
The second volume will focus more on the "emotional state" of the characters and their evolution since the beginning of the series.
“La Casa de Papel” is a series that tells about the spectacular heist of the Madrid Money Factory, by robbers led by a mysterious character, nicknamed “the Professor”.
Its first 15 episodes were originally broadcast on the Spanish channel Antena 3. It then achieved immense international success thanks to its broadcast on Netflix, which financed the following seasons. Winner of the 2018 Emmy Award for Best Drama Series, “La Casa de Papel” is one of the most viewed series on the platform. Its fourth season, released in April 2020 on Netflix, has been watched by some 65 million people.
