Covid: less than 2,500 cases, never so few since 5 October 2020

awn (ANSA) - ROME, MAY 24 - There are 2,490 coronavirus test positives in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health. To find a lower daily figure, it is necessary to go back to last October 5, when the registered houses were 2,257 (but the antigenic buffers were not yet counted). Yesterday the positives were 3,995. Instead 110 victims in one day, an increase compared to 72 yesterday.


    There are 107,481 molecular and antigenic swabs carried out; yesterday the tests were 179,391. The positivity rate is 2.3%, stable compared to 2.2% yesterday.


    There are 1,382 people in intensive care for Covid, 28 compared to yesterday in the daily balance between income and expenses, while the daily admissions were 48 like yesterday.


   On the other hand, there are 8,950 patients hospitalized with symptoms in the ordinary wards, 211 fewer in the last 24 hours. In house isolation there are 266,107 people (-4,414 compared to yesterday).


    In total, the cases since the beginning of the epidemic are 4,194,672, with an amount of 125,335. The discharged and healed are 3.792.898 (+ 7.032 compared to yesterday), the currently positive 276.439 (-4.653).
