Covid-19 in France: 3,496 patients hospitalized in critical care, the decline is confirmed

The number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients continues to decline slowly, including in critical care services, reserved for patients


The Covid-19 remains very present, but for nearly a month, it has been declining in health establishments.

This Monday, hospitals are welcoming 19,701 patients with Covid-19, this is 19 less than Sunday but especially nearly 3,050 less than last Monday.

The decline in the number of patients is also continuing in critical care services: 3,496 are hospitalized there on Monday.

Sunday, they were 3515 and Monday May 17 4186. Figures which had not been so low since February 28.

Fewer than 3,500 patients diagnosed with # Covid19 are hospitalized in critical care, for the first time since February 28.

A drop that goes hand in hand with a vaccination campaign that is bearing fruit.

As of May 24, more than 33,000,000 injections have been carried out, according to the Directorate General of Health.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 23,335,997 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 34.8% of the total population and 44.4% of the adult population) and 9,738,741 people have received two injections (14.5% of the total population and 18.5% of the adult population), according to still provisional data.
