(ANSA) - BAMAKO, MAY 24 - New crisis in Mali. President Bah Ndaw and Prime Minister Moctar Ouane were forcibly taken to a military base near Bamako in Kati. The "president and prime minister are here in Kati to question them," said a senior military official. The soldiers would not have approved the new executive, whose team was announced today by the transitional authorities.
A government official, on condition of anonymity, has confirmed that the heads of the transitional executive, President Bah Ndaw and Prime Minister Moctar Ouane, have been transported to Kati, the heart of the Malian military, where on August 18, 2020 the president elected Ibrahim BoubacarKeïta had been forcibly brought in by the coup colonels to announce his resignation.
It appears that the colonels themselves are involved in today's action, even if their intentions are not known.
