"Top Chef": an ephemeral restaurant in Paris for Mohamed, a second place for Sarah in Nantes

The tone is set, it will be a sunny terrace, sharing cuisine, cocktails and music… Semi-finalist of “Top Chef”, Mohamed Cheikh is in the process of preparing the imminent opening of a temporary four-month restaurant on the site. of the “Belles Plantes”, inside the Jardin des Plantes, in Paris.

The name ?

“Still top secret,” he laughs over the phone.

“We are going to offer sharing cuisine, in a place where we will be welcomed with lots of small dishes.

The idea is to create a restaurant that is a little sunny, Mediterranean style ”.

With 15 to 20 people in the kitchen, it expects 200 seats in the long term in a preserved setting with only neighbors, or more or less, the animals of the menagerie.

"It'll be a little private at night, since the garden closes and we have our own entrance," enthuses the young chef, eager to be there.

A “picking kitchen” for Sarah

For her part, Sarah Mainguy, in Nantes, is preparing to reopen her Vacarme, the small venue opened barely two years ago, but which has not been running for twelve months.

"It's a little scary, we don't really know what sauce we're going to be eaten in," she slips over the phone.

With a terrace that was too small, she preferred to wait until June 9.

But in anticipation of a "Top Chef" effect, to double the workforce from three to six.

“Before, we didn't necessarily have the means, we still don't have them, but we'll see,” she laughs.

"Hence the idea of ​​opening a second restaurant in 2022" a little more upscale, while remaining affordable, a place that gives me more opportunity to create what I want when I want, the cuisine is a bit small at Vacarme ”. The atmosphere, she imagines it "seventies" and on the plate the reinforced extension of her "picking cuisine". Moreover, she plans to buy land to cultivate her herbs.
