Fire at the Bundeswehr: Tanker truck in ammunition store catches fire

When construction vehicles were being filled with fuel at a Bundeswehr ammunition store near Bonn, a fully loaded tank truck caught fire. The adjacent cargo remained undamaged after the unloading.

Several vehicles caught fire on Tuesday at a Bundeswehr ammunition store in Rheinbach near Bonn.

According to a spokesman for the armed forces base, the fire broke out when a tanker truck tried to fill a so-called tank bomb - a kind of small gas station - with diesel.

The truck and another sprinter would have caught fire.
