According to media reports, a 53-year-old woman was seriously injured in a fall from a height of around 20 meters.
As reported by the online news portal inFranken.de and Bayerische Rundfunk, the hiker from the Fürth district climbed, slipped and fell on a ledge on the "Hohler Fels" observation rock above the Happurger reservoir, according to the police.
Rescue workers and the Frankenjura mountain rescue service provided the woman with medical care and then rescued her with a helicopter.
The hiker was then taken to a Nuremberg hospital with serious injuries.
Onlookers hinder the emergency services
At the time of the accident there were around 200 hikers and climbers on the "Hohlen Felsen", reports the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation with reference to the mountain rescue service.
Accordingly, many of the hikers and climbers watched the fall.
Therefore, the mountain rescue team deployed a crisis intervention team to take care of the eyewitnesses.

Both at the landing site and at the scene of action, onlookers would have ignored the instructions of the emergency services.
According to the mountain rescuers, some tried to take photos of the scene of the accident and put themselves in acute danger of falling.
This would have hindered the emergency services in the rescue work.
