In the United States, search parties have tracked down a 69-year-old who had been missing for more than two weeks in the vast forests of the state of Oregon.
His condition is stable, he only complained of slight pain, said the sheriff's office in the Douglas district.
Accordingly, the man had set out on a fishing trip, he wanted to camp and fish in a lake area in the Umpqua National Forest in the northwest of the country.
When he did not return as planned, his wife reported him missing and set up a Facebook page for clues about his whereabouts.
The car of the excursionist from the area was discovered two weeks ago on Saturday.
As various media, such as NBC, report, he had filled out a form with his personal details at the starting point.
On May 16, the search parties discovered a makeshift shelter that the man had apparently built for himself.
But apart from a fishing box, there was no trace of the 69-year-old, as the sheriff's office announced.
Search party leaves food and messages
During the search, helpers left food and messages for the missing person on hiking trails in the approximately 4,000 square kilometer forest area: "Harry, wait here." On Sunday, the man was finally discovered near another shelter and flown to a hospital by helicopter.
He is well and now back with his family.
Why he got lost and whether he had a cell phone with him was initially unknown.
The sheriff's office reminded that day trippers in the wilderness should have, among other things, maps, a compass and a GPS device for positioning and tracking.
