This decision comes as the Indian variant of the disease sees its circulation increase across the Channel.

France will put in place "compulsory isolation" for travelers from the United Kingdom.

This decision comes as the Indian variant of Covid-19 is circulating in this country in particular, government spokesman Gabriel Attal announced on Wednesday.

The date of application of this measure will be "specified in the coming hours", he added after the Council of Ministers.

"Germany announced a few days ago additional measures (...) for people who come from the United Kingdom and France will take similar measures", explained the spokesperson, referring to the two weeks of quarantine incompressible imposed by Berlin since Sunday.
