The European Union's trial against AstraZeneca for vaccine supply failures began this Wednesday in Brussels. The EU wants the Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical company to deliver 90 million unsupplied doses in the first quarter of this year, to which it believes it is entitled, and the supply of 180 million more doses until the end of September. For its part, AstraZeneca defends that the contract only obliges it to make the “best reasonable efforts” to comply with a supply schedule that it considers approximate. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) explained today that this Friday it will announce its opinion on the Pfizer vaccine for children between 12 and 15 years old. In Spain, the Ministry of Health reported 5,359 new infections and 90 deaths. The cumulative incidence drops only one point and stands at 128 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. The communities that maintain the highest incidence are the Basque Country, with 212 points; and Madrid, with 202.
