A new shipment with
470,035 Sputnik V vaccines
against the coronavirus from Russia arrived this Wednesday afternoon at the Ezeiza international airport on an Aerolineas Argentinas flight.
For the first time in almost two months, the batch included doses of the second component, with which the immunization schedule is completed.
In this way, the country received a total of
15,483,345 doses
against covid-19, of which 2,785,200 arrived in the last four days (1,080,000 from Sputnik V in two flights, 861,600 Astrazeneca from the COVAX mechanism also in two aircraft and 843,600 from the Astrazeneca-Oxford agreement).
Aerolineas Argentinas flight 1063 from Moscow landed around 3:45 p.m. at the air terminal, with the particularity that doses of both components arrived inside, something that had not happened in recent trips from Russia.

The new batch consists of
390,035 doses of component 1 and 80,000 of component 2
, which will make it possible to complete the immunization of some people who had already received the first dose in the first quarter of the year.
The vaccines produced by the Gamaleya Institute, Argentina's great bet in this first stage, were transported in "thermobox" type containers at a temperature of
18 degrees below zero
and with an additional refrigeration load.
As in previous flights, the crew was made up of commanders, co-pilots, technical, maintenance and cabin personnel, totaling 20 people on board.
In the last hours, 861,600 Astrazeneca from the COVAX mechanism and 843,600 Astrazeneca-Oxford also arrived.
Of the total doses received since the start of the vaccination plan,
8,115,745 correspond to Sputnik V
(6,975,585 from component 1 and 1,140,160 from component 2), 4,000,000 to Sinopharm, 580,000 to Astrazeneca-Covishield, 1,944. 000 to Astrazeneca through the COVAX mechanism and 843,600 to Astrazeneca-Oxford, which represent the first batch of vaccines whose active principle was produced in Argentina.
This Wednesday, the Ministry of Health reported that the distribution process began throughout the country of the almost 1.5 million vaccines: 600,300 doses of component 1 of the Sputnik V vaccines and also 804,000 doses of Astrazeneca that arrived in the country on Monday and they will be in all 24 jurisdictions no later than Thursday.
According to data from the Public Vaccination Monitor, the online registry that shows in real time the immunization operation throughout the Argentine territory, until this morning 12,644,854 vaccines were distributed, of which 11,331,066 have already been applied:
