It is a small paving stone launched in the climate bill.
While the government wants to make the environment a marker of the five-year term, the Senate has decided to take it at its word.
The Upper House of Parliament has just tabled an amendment obliging the public broadcasting companies, France Télévisions, Radio France and France Médias Monde, to ban from their antennas advertisements having a negative impact on the environment, from January 1 2023.

We hope that a particular effort will be requested from the public audiovisual sector.
The public service must be exemplary,
”explains Senator Michel Laugier (Centrist Union), the originator of the amendment, and draftsman of the climate bill on behalf of the culture committee.
Of course, if there is no alternative, the promotion of non-virtuous products can continue after this date.
It would still be strange to see state-owned companies continue to promote polluting products, even though this shareholder state calls for the fight against them to preserve the environment.

The idea is not to reduce the volume of advertising.
Only to make them more virtuous.
