Coronavirus: the Government agreed with Sinopharm the arrival of six million more vaccines

The commitment implies the arrival of the first two million in June. And of the remaining four million, in July.

Amid the rise in coronavirus cases, product of the second wave of the pandemic, Argentina continues to search for vaccines.

Now, the Government reached a new agreement with Sinopharm by which it would receive in the next months

six million doses of the formula developed by that Chinese laboratory

high official sources.

According to the agreement reached, the first two million doses will arrive

in June

, while the remaining four million will be received

 in July

.

The Chinese laboratory will send the vaccines in a new

packaging

that will allow

two million doses to arrive

in

a single flight

, this was reported by the newspaper Página / 12 and confirmed by official sources to this newspaper.

It is worth remembering that Argentina has

already received four million applications

from Sinopharm.

With them, it was decided to inoculate two million people with two doses, since until now the arrival of more of these vaccines was not guaranteed.

The new Sinopharm will arrive in a new packaging that will allow 2 million doses to arrive on one flight.

On the other hand, the national government had reported this Wednesday that it closed an agreement with the Chinese-Canadian laboratory CanSino for the purchase of its vaccine against covid-19 that, unlike those that the country already has,

consists of a single dose

"We are negotiating with Johnson & Johnson and we also

closed last week with CanSino

, which is another laboratory that also did the clinical trial here, in Argentina, of phase 3 during the past year," said the Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero, in statements to radio La Red.

Details on the quantity and arrival date of these vaccines are still unknown, although it is estimated that they will be

between three and five million doses

Argentina has received a total of 15,483,345 vaccines against the coronavirus

, of which 2,785,200 arrived in the last three days (1,080,000 Sputnik V, 861,600 AstraZeneca from the Covax mechanism and 843,600 AstraZeneca from those produced in the Argentina and Mexico).
