Eddy Mitchell and Laurent Gerra: how was their concert streaming?

2021-05-29T23:15:14.718Z

The two artists had made an appointment on the stage of the Gymnase theater for a last session, a sort of tinted singing tour

For two hours, the two lads shut down the standards of the first, mocked the news, summoned the missing and had a good laugh.

Reunited for a special evening entitled “On credit and in stereo”, to be seen in live stream, here they are on the stage of the Gymnase theater (Paris Xe), leaning on a bar.

They drink "jeannot le marcheur" not to mention a brand of whiskey - fake at first, they finally opted for real - and it's a Sardou song that sums up the evening well.

A title introduced by a sound document by the young Gerra, 5, singing "Sur des airs populaire".

And the two resume in chorus: "We are there to have a drink - We are there to play the fools (...) And I would even say a good shot - And laugh between us - To popular tunes".

That was the idea.

Well accompanied by an orchestra of nine musicians who swing the boards of the Gymnasium, they continue.

A cocktail evening, strong and elegant moments

A song, a sketch, a title, a bit of a chat… The ingredients of a cocktail party, more or less dosed, more or less diluted. Results, strong and elegant moments, "Le bar du Lutetia" by Eddy alone at the counter. "The pianist plays" Old rascal "in G, but all alone - You don't lose by the change - You drink with the angels". This "Old scoundrel!" He breathes it with emotion. As much for Gainsbourg as for Johnny, one imagines. The two will be there, thanks to the magic of Laurent Gerra's talent as an imitator. The first for that ringing and stumbling "Old Rascal" that Eddy had sung with the cabbage-headed man. The second on a "No boogie-woogie" all fire all flame. He again invites Julien Clerc on pastel “Mint color with water”. There, the two are a pair.

But it is only that the rocker crooner offers himself "The last session".

Tuxedo and black t-shirt, he has Eddy class.

Beautiful mouth of scoundrel.

At his side his guitarist Basile Leroux makes his instrument sound like in Nashville.

We can feel their very deep roots crossing the Atlantic at these old branches.

Gerra is a songwriter, and as such, summons his favorite characters.

Jean-Pierre Foucault and Enrico Macias, Celine Dion again who "thinks so much about the song the cemetery of the elephants".

"It reminds me of my poor René who spent his time showing me his trunk."

Chicandier sometimes pours into bold humor, Gerra and Mitchell have gently manhandled him.

Helmet on her head and tie askew, Gerra arrives in Holland. The cemetery of the elephants of the socialist party knows it. Castex will also come, a hat on his head, to announce that "The ski resorts will be able to reopen at the beginning of July and the beaches in mid-November". He has his own moments, with the precise flow of a Luchini, he indulges in the La Fontaine-style fable of today with the well thought out “Bobo et le corard”. "Master Bobo in his perched loft - Held a cell phone in his beak - Master Nerdy, who was not plugged in - He gave him more or less this word ...".

At the bar, Chicandier acts as a loyal gentleman. A bit bawdy, he does not always serve his best counter humor. "We will keep it, it is used for drinking," laughs Gerra. In turn, they gently manhandle him, calling him "Chiffonnier", "Chicory", "Thenardier" or even "Quibbler". “Gros Morbier” again. Chicandier is no lace-maker, who along with Gerra sometimes pours into bold, rifle humor. Briefly, one can have this impression of a late evening, that of the marriage of the carp and the rabbit. Sometimes evidenced by the astonished face of Eddy listening to certain jokes of the fellow.

Fortunately Gerra knows how to open the repertoire of French song to call Bécaud, Trenet, Delpech, Salvador or even Joe Dassin that the two friends share greedily for nice moments of complicity. But definitely, Eddy, we prefer him without anything, we rock at a pinch. Crooner storyteller, painter of an era, he turns a song into a film. And each time we take us back to a comforting elsewhere.
