After the federal and state vaccination summit, the Federal Schoolchildren's Conference called for young people to have the right to pre-empt the Biontech vaccine.
With this preparation, there will only be one vaccine in the foreseeable future that will be approved for under 16-year-olds, said Dario Schramm, Secretary General of the National Schoolchildren Conference, the newspapers of the Funke media group.
Young people should also be given the opportunity to protect themselves and their fellow human beings with a vaccination, says Schramm.
The federal government must take precautions so that appropriate quantities are available as soon as the EU drug authority EMA has approved the Biontech Pfizer vaccine for children from the age of twelve.
The EMA's decision is expected this Friday.
The federal and state governments have agreed that from June 7th, children from the age of twelve in Germany can also be vaccinated with the vaccine from Biontech / Pfizer.
The prerequisite is that the EMA approves the vaccine for this age group, which the federal and state governments assume in a resolution paper.
