Hoch "Waltraud" brings partly summery weather to Germany for the weekend.

"This means that the weather will move into calmer waters in the next few days and the temperatures will gradually dare to peak above 20 degrees," said Marco Manitta from the German Meteorological Service in Offenbach.

According to the forecasts, there may still be showers and individual thunderstorms in the north and east on Friday.

In the southeast and northwest the sky is cloudy, but there are hardly any showers.

In the rest of the country, according to the DWD, it will be bright with partly longer sunny sections.

The temperatures reach 13 to 18 degrees, in the southwest even 20 degrees.

Weekends mostly summery

According to the DWD, on Saturday it is increasingly bright and dry.

The maximum values are 14 degrees at the sea and 22 degrees in the southwest.

From Bavaria to Brandenburg, however, according to the forecast, there may be showers with changing clouds, occasionally with lightning and thunder and sometimes with heavy rain.

On Sunday it should be dry in most areas - with a mix of sun and clouds.

According to forecasts, the temperatures rise again and reach up to 17 degrees in the Vogtland and 24 degrees on the Upper Rhine.

There is a low risk of showers in the eastern mountainous region.

In the Alpine region and in the Ore Mountains, meteorologists do not rule out heavy rain lasting several hours.
