"Friends: The Reunion", "Lucifer", "Ragnarök" ... 5 new features to see on the platforms

As before every weekend, Le Parisien offers a selection of programs not to be missed on online video platforms.

This week, the beautiful reunions of cult characters from the small screen, a series on a woman who is making her place in the macho world of American baseball or the adventures of Scandinavian superheroes ...

"Friends: The Reunion": thank you friends

SALTO.

The reunion of the actors of "Friends", long awaited by fans of the series, can be found on Salto. Filmed mostly in the original sets, this hour-and-forty show allows Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry to immerse themselves in their memories between laughter and emotions. The actors have not lost any of their chemistry and replay certain cult scenes, are interviewed in public by host James Corden and share anecdotes. A sequence will especially delight lovers of the Ross-Rachel couple, since David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston admit to having really fallen for each other from the first season, without anything concrete happening between them.

The creators of the series also come back to the choice of the different actors and we are delighted to find Tom Selleck in particular in a short appearance.

On the other hand, we would have done well without a whole host of guests who only intervene for a few seconds, without much interest, apart from Lady Gaga who covers "Smelly Cat" ("You stink of the cat" in French) with Lisa Kudrow.

But the essential is there and this celebration full of nostalgia keeps its promises.

Devilishly divine "Lucifer"

In the second part of season 5 (episodes 9 to 16) of "Lucifer", a new character enters the scene and will upset the plot: God himself. Actor Dennis Haysbert (who played President Palmer in the first seasons of "24 Hours Chrono") lends his features to the hero's father and his presence will leave no one unmoved, especially not Lucifer. This scenario rebound gives a new divine breath to this series which also takes advantage of it to give more and more depth to multiple characters.

Because even if we regret that the trajectory of Lieutenant Chloe Decker turns a little in circles, others are entitled to particularly touching sequences: Amenadiel, angel and brother of Lucifer, recently become a father, the demon Mazikeen, the forensic scientist Ella , psychologist Linda or cop Dan.

Before season 6, which will be the last, “Lucifer” still manages to surprise.

"Panic" freaks her out!

The online sales giant's streaming platform continues its recent streak in the teen and young adult fiction genre. After "The Wilds", "Motherland: Fort Salem" or "Boarding School: Las Cumbres", here is "Panic". This fiction, of which 10 episodes are available, is located in Carp, a small town in Texas. Young graduates dream of only one thing: to escape this narrow universe in order to try to build a future. Among them, volunteers compete each year in an underground competition, Panic, during trials confronting them with their deepest fears: jumping off a cliff, spending the night in a haunted house, robbing the house of an armed man… With the key a large sum of money which does not cease increasing over the years, as well as the dangerousness of the challenges.

Two teenagers lost their lives participating in Panic the year before, and the adults in town are looking to end the nightmare.

But young people do not lack the resources to continue playing.

The breathtaking screenplay of "Panic" is by Lauren Oliver, who here adapts her own eponymous novel.

Rather well embodied, the series does not avoid some clichés and clichés of the genre but the suspense works in full force.

"Pitch": a woman in baseball

DISNEY +.

Series released in 2016 across the Atlantic and never broadcast on a French channel, “Pitch” deserves attention. So good news to see her land this Friday on Disney +. The heroine, Ginny Baker, is a gifted baseball player and is about to enter the major league of the sport, a first for a woman. Obviously, in an extremely macho world, this is not going to go without a hitch.

The actress Kylie Bunbury (now on "Big Sky" also on Disney +) embodies the lead role with talent.

Hats off also to Mark-Paul Gosselaar (“Saved by the Bell”, “NYPD Blue,“ Franklin and Bash ”) who lends his features to the captain of Ginny's team, close to retirement.

The series is co-signed by Dan Fogelman, the creator of “This Is Us”, who perfectly knows how to balance the sporting side of the scenario with the personal intrigues of the protagonists.

Unfortunately, "Pitch" was canceled after a single season, so we will have to be satisfied with these ten episodes.

"Ragnarök", season 2: high school students and superheroes

NETFLIX.

The astonishing first season of this Scandinavian series presented his vision of superheroes adapted to the mythologies of the North and installed Magne, a high school student from a village lost at the bottom of a fjord, who gradually discovered that he was the reincarnation of Thor. Today, the new season takes it up a notch. As the war between the Gods and the Giants is brewing, each one chooses his party, alliances and betrayals are emerging on both sides, new characters appear, such as Magne's little brother, alias Thor, who becomes Loki.

But all while respecting the codes of the series: everything happens in secret, as if nothing had happened, everyone keeping their role in the city - high school student, father of a family, business manager ... Always greener, the series still highlights the local natural elements - the water of the fjord, the fire, the northern lights… Above all, the characters of “Ragnarök”, always more endearing, gain in humor, with lines and hilarious comic situations, to compensate the action which stretches between the enemies.

In the end, this series is unprecedented, between clashes of titans, myths and legends, and heroes deeply rooted in a very modern daily life: fantastic!
