Vaccinated, but not necessarily protected against Covid-19.

467 people who thought they had been vaccinated were recalled by the vaccination center of Lourdes and the Regional Health Agency (ARS) following an error in the process of dilution of the doses of vaccine, as told by our colleagues from La Dispatch from the Midi.

More fear than harm: the first contact was to ensure a sufficient dosage and not an overdose which could perhaps have been more dangerous.

All these people underwent a serological test to check their vaccination coverage.

Of the 467 people tested, seven had not benefited from an optimal dosage, indicates La Dépêche.

These patients will be inoculated with a new dose of vaccine.

Under-dosages and over-dosages

The dosage error, without serious consequences, occurred on Saturday, May 22.

"A vial was inadvertently diluted twice, resulting in the injection of a largely diluted vaccine", explained to our colleagues those in charge of the vaccination center in Lourdes, which reacted quickly.

Other dosing errors have already occurred. In early May, a 23-year-old student was administered the entire contents of a vial of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, equivalent to six individual doses, which must also be diluted with physiological saline. The young woman, in good health, still had to stay in hospital and will be the subject of regular examinations over the coming months.
