It is in California now that he lives and talks to us about this album of covers from his catalog in a symphonic version.
THE EVENING. - Where did you get this idea for an album featuring your most famous titles in a symphonic version?
MOBY. -
Very young, around 8-9 years old, I started to study music theory because several members of my family were classical musicians.
Without much success, no one knew them but my mother was a pianist, my great-grandmother was a composer… So I grew up in this classical environment.
And so I've always liked the human simplicity of that, this ability to communicate emotions through music.
A little over three years ago, I gave a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall with the LA Philharmonic and after that, I was asked if I was interested in it.
