Is it going to be wonderful summer weather again at the weekend?
Anyone who has not yet ushered in the barbecue season can finally get started.
But after grilling is before grilling, which means something like: The grill needs to be cleaned nicely after the garden party - so that nothing stands in the way of the next use.
In addition to charcoal and contact grills, Germans also like to sizzle their meat with the gas grill.
And this can be cleaned relatively easily with the right tricks.
Here are some tips for you
:
How often do I have to clean my gas grill?
To answer this question, you should take a look at the individual parts of the grill: You should definitely
clean
the grill grate
after each use
.
After all, there is still leftover food and fat that you don't want to stick to the food at your next garden party.
The burner cover also needs cleaning after every grilling.
The rest of your gas grill can be cleaned inside and out as needed.
Because at the bottom of the grill, the remaining leftovers with marinade and fats collect, which do not simply dissolve in the air or burn.
Some gas barbecues have a tub in which these leftovers can be collected or pushed in from the grill chamber.
The tub can then be easily removed and the dirt removed.
As a rule, however, you should
clean
the gas grill
thoroughly before and after the season
- if you use it frequently, every
two to four weeks
.

Cleaning the gas grill: How to burn out the grillage
Fortunately, the grate of a gas grill is easy to clean - by letting it burn out.
To do this, simply close the lid of the grill and heat the device to the highest level.
You can tell from the smoke development whether the rest of the grill food has burned
: At the beginning there is still a lot of smoke, while towards the end there is nothing left that can burn.
When the last of the smoke has gone, you can be sure that your grill is clean.
The remaining soot and ash stains can then be easily removed with a
wire brush
and, last but not least, wiped over with a damp cloth and washing-up liquid.
You don't have a gas grill
, but a contact grill
?
No problem: this is also easy to clean.
How to clean the burner cover of the gas grill
The burner covers are located directly under the grillage of the gas grill and are cleaned in exactly the same way: Because when the grillage burns out, the burner covers are also cleaned - so you kill two birds with one stone.
It's that easy to clean the inside of your gas grill
The inside of the gas grill should be completely cooled down when cleaning so that you
can safely remove
individual components
such as grill grates, flavor blades, burner covers or lava stones
.
Once the grill is cleared, get to work cleaning it up.
The
best way to remove
coarse dirt is
with a wooden spatula so that there are no scratches on the grill.
Once these residues have been removed, you can use various cleaners to clean the gas grill.
One option is
to mix vinegar and detergent in a ratio of 1:10
- with vinegar taking up the greater part - and distribute this mixture inside the grill.
After about ten minutes of exposure, simply wipe the gas grill out again.
Alternatively,
oven
spray
can also be
used.

You can easily clean the outside of your gas grill
Cleaning the outside of your gas grill is probably one of the easiest tasks: Both
stainless steel and glass cleaners
are good at removing dirt and grease from the surface.
Simply spray the outside of the grill and let the agent work for a short time.
Water with a splash of detergent is also a cheap alternative for cleaning the gas grill.
With stainless steel, however, be careful
not
to use
metal sponges or the like
to avoid ugly scratches.
Clean the gas grill with a steam and high-pressure cleaner
If you have a high-pressure cleaner at hand, you would of course like to use it - after
all
,
stubborn dirt
can be easily sprayed off with it.
However, you should then
remove
sensitive components
such as the burners and pay attention to the gas hose and seals.
Above all, check the gas hoses for cracks beforehand.
The steam cleaner is a little gentler compared to the high-pressure cleaner and cleans the gas grill with highly heated water.
It is also perfect for
loosening adhering grease
from the metal.
