In response to loud calls for help from a duck, a police patrol car was deployed in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg.
The animal drew attention to itself on Thursday because its chicks had fallen into a drain.
This was announced by the police in Ravensburg.
A parked car had previously made it difficult to rescue passers-by.
The officers managed to get hold of the vehicle owner, who pulled his car aside.
Then the animals could be released.
Afterwards, mother and chick moved towards Lake Constance together.
