Covid-19 in France: 71 new deaths and 3,028 patients in critical care

The number of patients in critical care continues to decline, reaching around 3,000 this weekend. About ten days before the next phase of deconfinement, Public Health France recorded a further drop in the figures for the epidemic. This Saturday, 3,028 patients hospitalized in critical care were counted in France, against 3,104 on Friday, and 3,544 last Saturday. In total, 16,847 patients are treated in hospital following a Covid-19 infection. They were 17,272 Friday, and 19,765 last Saturday.

This Saturday, 71 new deaths were reported in hospitals in the territory.

The decline in the numbers of the epidemic is confirmed, while a next stage of deconfinement is expected on June 9.

Bars and restaurants will be able to open their tables indoors with a strict protocol, while swimming pools and sports halls will reopen to all audiences with a gauge.

The curfew will be postponed to 11 p.m.

On Friday, the European Medicines Agency approved the use of the anti-Covid Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine for 12-15 year olds, which becomes the first vaccine to be authorized for adolescents in the 27 countries of the European Union.
