 Promote and testify, through information and through awareness-raising and solidarity initiatives, the culture of relief in favor of all people incurable at the end of their life. This is the goal of the National Relief Day, established in 2001 and which this year is celebrated on May 30th. Promoter is the Ghirotti Foundation, together with the Ministry of Health and the Conference of the Regions. The "Culture of Relief" is the cornerstone of the day and of Law 38/2010, an innovative "law for experts, thanks to which access to palliative care and pain therapy in Italy is guaranteed for the first time. area of ​​the Essential Levels of Assistance ". A thread unites, on this day, the many realities involved in assisting the incurable person,also through palliative care: among these is the Health and Research Foundation, thanks to which the first hospice in Central-Southern Italy was born in 1998, opened by the will and thanks to the financial contribution of the Rome Foundation. The Health and Research Foundation, which has a Palliative Care Center in Rome (hospice, home care, pain therapy clinic) and a Care Center for the non self-sufficient (Integrated Home Care, Services for dementias, Services for Sclerosis Laterale Amiotrofica), with an online event, organized for the day the presentation of the "Little dictionary of care", an anthology of poems and essays to reflect on the value of care, in relieving the suffering of the incurable person.Forty-two different words entrusted to as many contemporary Italian poets, who have interpreted them each in their own way. The book is enriched by five essays written by experts from various disciplines (bioethics, law, philosophy, linguistics and sociology, including the former Minister of Health Renato Balduzzi). The presentation will be attended by the Past president Sicp (Italian Palliative Care Society) Italo Penco, the curator of the book Vincenzo Mascolo and some of the authors, including Alessandro Fo, nephew of the Nobel laureate Dario Fo, professor of Latin literature at the University of Siena and author of verse books, who 'gave' his unpublished poem entitled "Sollievo" to the anthology.The book is enriched by five essays written by experts from various disciplines (bioethics, law, philosophy, linguistics and sociology, including the former Minister of Health Renato Balduzzi).
