The celebrations of 2 June also this year, in compliance with current regulations, remain in anti-covid format.
No military parade at the Imperial Forums, no reception at the Quirinale, no opening of the gardens to the public but a
concert reserved for the diplomatic corps in the courtyard of honor on June 1st
.
This year, however, the courtyard of honor of the Quirinale will host, on the evening of June 1, live on television, an exceptional guest: a
performance by Roberto Bolle
with Virna Toppi (Pas de deux, from "L'altra Casanova" on music by Vivaldi). From 6.30 pm the program includes music by European composers dedicated to Italy (Britten, Berlioz, Mendelssohn, J. Strauss, Martinu, Cajkovskij) with the Santa Cecilia Orchestra, conducted by Jakub Hrusa. At the end there will be a brief greeting from the president Sergio Mattarella.
The program on 2 June is more formal
: on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Republic, a ceremony will be held in the courtyard of honor at 7 pm.
The President will give a speech in front of the State officials
and a large group of school students. With the participation of Frida Bollani and Cesare Bocci. There will be a screening of a 12-minute film made by Rai Cultura. There will be no morning military parade or the afternoon opening of the gardens to the public. So the celebrations of June 2 will certainly be contingent in the ceremonial but not without force.
On the morning of June 2, the head of state will leave the Quirinale on the historic "Flaminia" discovery of representation and will reach the altar of the Fatherland where he will lay a wreath of flowers in the presence of the high offices of the state.
A military picket will be deployed on either side of the path and an inter-force department in Piazza Venezia.
In the absence of the military parade, the
Frecce tricolori
will steal the show with the usual spectacular passage over the center of Rome.
