In June there will be some changes for consumers.
Vaccination prioritization, XXL-ICE, Google accounts, Corona training rewards - everything you should know.
Munich - The vaccination priority will be lifted on June 7th.
This was announced by Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU).
This means that anyone who wants to be vaccinated against Corona can then make an appointment.
However, since most corona vaccinations consist of two syringes, second vaccinations are mainly carried out at the moment.
Therefore, it may still take time after June 7th before an appointment is offered to those willing to be vaccinated.
Changes as of June 2021: Corona training bonuses double
Since the beginning of August 2020, companies can apply for a so-called “training bonus”. This is intended to protect the training institutions and the trainees themselves from short-time work. The premium is a state-sponsored grant that is paid out after a successfully completed trial period. It is aimed at small and medium-sized companies that are "significantly affected by the Corona crisis", according to the Federal Employment Agency.
So far, the subsidized amount was 2000 euros per training contract and 3000 euros for the training bonus plus.
The premiums will now double as of June 1st (4,000 and 6,000 euros).
There is also another change.
So far, funding could only be applied for by companies with a size of up to 249 employees.
From June 1, this will also be possible for larger companies with up to 499 employees.
June 2021: Deutsche Bahn puts XXL ICE on the rails and changes the compensation application
Deutsche Bahn wants to put the "ICE-4-XXL" on the rails in June 2021. The special thing about the giant colossus: 918 seats and 13 train sections. “There has never been so many seats on an ICE,” says Deutsche Bahn. The "Lange" is to be used on the route between Hamburg, Cologne, Stuttgart and Munich. The first trip will take place on June 13th between Hamburg and Chur.
Deutsche Bahn has yet another change ready for June.
If a train is delayed or even canceled, you have the right to compensation.
If you are one hour late, the train will refund a quarter of the original fare, and if you are two hours late it is half.
Previously, you had to print out and submit the passenger rights form for this.
From June 1, you can also apply for compensation online via the Bahn's website or digitally via the Bahn app.
This not only saves time, but also paper.
Google is eliminating unlimited storage space for photos - limit of 15 GB per account
With Google Photos it was previously possible to upload unlimited photos and videos.
A simple variant to save storage space on the smartphone.
That is over now.
On June 1st, Google's new storage guidelines will come into effect.
From now on, all photos and videos that are uploaded will count towards the free storage space of 15 GB.
This includes the entire memory of the Google account.
So not only the storage of Google Photos, but also of Drive and Gmail.
These include, among other things, that the Google video platform can display advertising in all videos.
So not only in those who participate in the YouTube partner program.
When uploading videos, YouTube is granted the right to “monetize”.
This enables the "display of advertisements in or within the context of the content," as the company announces.
However, this agreement does not automatically entitle the creator to make payments.
