Jens Spahn at Anne Will: At the third "Aha", the minister's collar bursts

Jens Spahn faces his critics with "Anne Will" - and has brought his defensive smile with him. Only when it comes to vaccines for children does things suddenly get lively - and the tone rougher.

Jens Spahn is not to be blamed for a lack of visibility.

At the beginning of the pandemic crisis he had announced: "We will probably have to forgive a lot together."

Strangely enough, that doesn't apply to himself. The Minister of Health, CDU, makes no mistakes.

At least that is the impression he would like to create this time with "Anne Will".

For example, there is the fact that criminal providers of rapid tests have made a lot of money with wrong numbers.

So much that it would probably have been able to equip all schools in the country with sensible ventilation systems.

And so greedy that in one case 25,000 tests were reported - all supposedly negative, which theoretically means around 800 undetected diseases.

Wouldn't it be obvious, if asked carefully, that the responsible Minister of Health admits in one point or another certain mistakes in the management of the crisis?

Do it, just not with Spahn.

He is armed with his usual defensive smile and declares in view of the mistakes: "It's not about mistakes".

No matter what a man orders his power to do, it will always be "taken as a mistake by some."

It helps to turn back the clock: "Well, first of all we have to look back three months in Germany", there weren't any party tents in parking lots where dubious companies pretended to test - in order to then settle the accounts.

The desire to offer tests across the board was "pragmatically well achieved".

What is the good thing about this scandal that is now being investigated?

"The good thing is that it is now being investigated," says Spahn happily.

His smiling tenant Christian Lindner, FDP, seconded the property owner that everything in life is "susceptible to abuse" after all.

He, Lindner, was therefore "more gracious than the SPD".

If the government acts "unbureaucratically, quickly, I shall say: entrepreneurial", it should not be criticized.

When the tax office asks critically

One would get the fraud under control, so Spahn, at the latest with the tax return.

Then ordered tests would have to be compared with performed tests, and lo and behold: "People have a different respect in front of the tax office than they do in front of the Ministry of Health."

Janosch Dahmen, the only doctor in the group and health expert for the Greens, doesn't like to smile at all.

It "evidently developed a business acumen that you can make a lot of money here very quickly."

He doesn't want to scandalize any more.

Rather, Dahmen worries about Spahn's intention to offer children and adolescents a vaccination offer "by the end of August" with the school running smoothly.

Children bear a very low risk, adults should be cared for as a priority.

With his offer, Spahn does not anticipate the recommendation of the Standing Vaccination Commission, he disregards it beforehand.

The commission is “a great treasure,” but it only makes, he explains, “recommendations.

They are also called: Recommendations «.

At the third "aha", the minister's collar bursts

The Minister of Health makes the announcements, for example to provide vaccination doses for the first and second vaccinations for children in

addition

to the quantities in stock.

From the expected contingent of 50 million doses from Biontech, the minister would provide five million for the youngest.

So not in addition, but a tenth of the cake.

While Spahn explains this cheerful calculation, Lindner says three times "Aha!" Before the minister finally bursts his collar: "What do you mean now: Aha?"

Lindner explains that the vaccine for the children and adolescents would be "taken elsewhere".

Spahn: "Yes, where else from?"

Jens Spahn has the self-confidence of the size of the Federal Chancellery and the quality of an erpel.

Everything rolls off him.

Something will come of the man again.
