Vaccinations are progressing at a rapid pace, the country is starting up again and the economy is starting to show signs of growth that are no longer momentary that allow for a cautious and reasoned optimism, even if a strong commitment will be needed for sustained growth that makes the debt sustainable. It is a difficult picture but with more hope than last year, the one in which the final considerations of the Governor of the Bank of Italy Ignazio Visco take place today. The pandemic, even if the numbers are down, is still very present so much so that the appointment, as in 2020, takes place in a reduced form and maintaining the strict anti Covid rules. And so also this year the governor speaks, in addition to the directorate and the front lines, to a small number of guests, about fifty, chosen from the economy, finance and social forces:among others, the president of Confindustria Carlo Bonomi, ABI Antonio Patuelli, the presidents of Intesa Sanpaolo Gros Pietro and Unicredit Padoan, representatives of the ECB (and former Bank of Italy), Andrea Enria and Fabio Panetta, union leaders and representatives of Parliament. No one, as a practice, of the government to point out the autonomy of the central institution.
