(ANSA) - BERLIN, MAY 31 - A Ryanair flight from Dublin to Krakow was forced to land last night in Berlin following what according to the media was a bomb scare.
"The police security measures ended without any danger being detected," said a spokesman for the police in the German capital. "The passengers were able to resume the flight to Poland aboard a reserve plane," adds the source without giving details on the reasons for the alert. According to the newspaper Bild Zeitung, it was a bomb threat which later proved to be unfounded.
The plane carrying 160 people landed at 8:08 pm on a runway of the Berlin-Brandenburg airport in the south of the city. According to German media, the passengers' luggage was deposited on the tarmac to be searched by squads of dogs, while the plane was surrounded by numerous police and fire brigade vehicles.
"The Ryanair airline requested an emergency landing and was immediately cleared," airport spokesman Jan-Peter Hack said daily Bild, specifying that the passengers had been taken inside the terminal to be able to eat there. .
Already in July 2020 a Ryanair plane carrying out the same Dublin-Krakow route had to make an emergency landing in London following a bomb threat, which also proved to be unfounded. (HANDLE).
