Lemon Cake Recipe: The Ingredients

For the preparation in a loaf pan (makes about

10 pieces

) you need:

  • 230 g soft butter

  • 230 g powdered sugar

  • 4 eggs

  • 220 g flour

  • Zest of a lemon

For the

lemon topping

:

  • 2 lemons, squeezed

  • 90 g of sugar

Lemon cake with lemon topping: baking instructions

  • Heat the

    oven to

    180 degrees top / bottom heat

    or 160 degrees circulating air.

  • Beat the butter and powdered sugar to a creamy mass.

    Gradually add eggs and mix in.

  • Sift the flour into the mass and stir everything into a smooth dough.

    Add lemon zest to the batter and mix in as well.

  • Line the loaf pan with baking paper

    and leave a little overhang.

  • Spoon the dough into the baking tin and smooth it out.

  • Let the cake bake in the preheated oven for about 45 to 50 minutes.

    Test a longer wooden stick to see if the dough is baked through.

  • While the

    lemon cake is cooling slightly in the loaf pan

    , you can prepare the topping.

    To do this, mix the lemon juice and sugar together.

  • Pierce the still warm lemon cake with the wooden stick (optionally with a fork or a kebab skewer) several times.

    Then the
