Only a few days left to transfer up to € 1,800 in training rights

For French people who have not transferred their individual rights to training (DIF) to their CPF, all the hours acquired will be lost as of June 30.

The countdown is almost over.

The French now have less than a month to transfer their individual training rights (DIF) to their personal training account (CPF).

Since December 31, 2014 (December 31, 2016 for public sector employees) the CPF entered into force with the aim of definitively replacing the DIF as of June 30. Beyond this deadline, previously set at December 31, 2020, the hours contributed but not carried over to the training account will be lost. However, as of June 1, only 6.3 million employees had taken the process and 10 million still had to do so, according to a press release from the Federation of Vocational Training (FFP). The loss would therefore amount to 12 billion euros, specifies the organization.

To finalize his transfer request, the employee must justify his professional activity between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2014 by an employer certificate or by a payslip. If he had successively several employers during this period,

"only the certificate provided by your last employer is valid"

, indicates the site moncompteformation. The situation becomes more complicated in the case of several simultaneous jobs. You must then

"add up the hours indicated on the certificates of each of your employers"

and

"scan all the certificates beforehand in order to download only one document"

.

Once the justification has been provided, the DIF hours acquired are converted into euros on the personal training account, one hour corresponding to 15 euros.

For a person who has never used their DIF, this represents a maximum of 120 hours, or a potential balance of 1,800 euros.

The amount on the CPF cannot exceed 5,000 euros.

Scam attempts

As the deadline soon comes to an end, training organizations are making more calls and emails to employees in an attempt to convince them to undertake one. And it happens that these solicitations are scams as the FFP reports on its site.

"Some organizations may, by telephone canvassing, attempt to access your Personal Training Account (CPF) by collecting personal data and diverting your rights to training"

, she warns, recalling that the service provider must be declared as a training organization and offer its training on the MonCompteFormation portal. Two checks that make it possible to ensure the authenticity of the proposed offer.

For its part, the government is considering a law to ban telephone canvassing for vocational training, according to

Le Parisien

. Another scam consists of making the interlocutor believe that his rights to training will be lost no matter what from June 30, thus encouraging him to use them before that date. According to the Caisse des Dépôts, which manages the CFP, 10 to 12 million euros have been misappropriated, out of a total of more than one billion euros spent on training, since the launch of "MonCompteFormation" in November 2019.
