At least 11 civilians, including four women and three children who were aboard a bus, were killed by a roadside bomb in the Badghis province of Afghanistan.
The attack, which took place last night, heightens fears of further violence as US forces continue to withdraw the last remaining troops from the country.
No group, at the moment, has claimed responsibility for the explosion, but the governor of Badghis, Hessamuddin Shams, has blamed the Taliban.
Another provincial official, Khodadad Tayeb, confirmed the death toll, explaining that the bus crashed in a valley after being hit by the bomb. The new attack comes after a series of explosions targeted passenger buses in Kabul last week, two of which were claimed by the Islamic State.
