Spanish rider Sergio Garcia (Aspar Team) won the Catalonian Grand Prix in the Moto3 class. At the finish line of the Montmelò circuit in Barcelona, Garcia preceded his compatriots Jeremy Alcoba and Jaume Masia. The latter, however, suffered a penalty from the race officials and lost third place on the podium to Czech Deniz Oncu. First of the Italians Nicolò Antonelli, eighth.
The race was characterized by two spectacular crashes, in the first with twelve laps to go they ended up on the asphalt but without consequences John Mcphee, Andrea Migno and Tatsuki Suzuki. On the last lap, another crash involved Dennis Foggia, the Japanese Ayumu Sasaki and the Spanish Xavier Artigas.
The Japanese had the worst, taken to the medical center of the circuit.
